Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth Texas. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.
The IQC Engineer ensures that all incoming raw materials meet established quality standards before entering production. This role oversees supplier quality performance, conducts audits of local suppliers, identifies material anomalies, and drives corrective and preventive actions to protect production operations. The IQC Engineer maintains accurate inspection documentation, manages quality KPIs, and supports continuous improvement efforts through close collaboration with suppliers, internal quality teams, and production departments.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Documentation
- Prepare and update IQC history files, inspection instructions, and sampling plans within the company database.
- Oversee incoming material inspections and approve IQC inspection results in company database.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities, dispositions, and quality documentation.
- Create and manage SIPs, including approval and filing within database.
Material Quality Management
- Evaluate and confirm material issues related to incoming raw materials.
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to escalate issues to suppliers and request corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure all non-conforming material is contained in the MRB area until final disposition.
- Coordinate segregation and disposition activities for non-conforming materials.
- Issue purge notices in database and monitor implementation of engineering changes in IQC.
- Request and review failure analysis (FA) for material-related issues.
- Follow up on supplier SCARs.
Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Conduct audits and coordinate with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Work closely with SQM engineers to support joint IQC/SQM activities.
- Provide training and guidance to IQC inspectors.
Performance Management
- Manage and track IQC KPIs to monitor inspection effectiveness and supplier quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material quality and process reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), supplier development, or internal auditing.
- Leadership: At least 2 years of supervisory or team-lead experience.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications (GD&T).
- Familiarity with SMT and FA manufacturing processes.
- Quality Tools & Standards: Proficient in Core Tools (SPC, PPAP, FMEA) and quality systems such as ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.
- Inspection Standards: Able to apply visual inspection criteria (IPC-A-610).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated capability in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Project Management: Experience managing projects and tracking KPIs.
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, data-driven, collaborative, and effective in multicultural environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification.
- Experience quality management systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
